Ski and snowboard one of North America’s best resorts, adjacent to one of its best ski towns.

Ski and snowboard in one of the most beautiful places in the country, if not the world. Seriously, Telluride will blow you away with almost 4,500 feet of vertical, stunning high alpine views, and Wild West vibes. It’s true, Butch Cassidy robbed his first bank here in 1889. This historic mining town nestled high in the San Juan Mountains started gaining traction as a ski bum’s paradise starting in the ‘70s -- and it hasn’t disappointed since. To this day, lift lines are a rare sight and the powder is plentiful.

With your home base at The Peaks, enjoy the convenience of ski in ski out accommodations and a prime location in the heart of Mountain Village. Access over 2,000 acres of skiable terrain, including wide open bowls, steep chutes, and excellent tree runs. Wind down your day with a dip in the heated indoor-outdoor pool (yes, it’s both). Take a 13-minute, free Gondola ride into the town of Telluride for a long list of solid dining and nightlife options, live music, and more.

  • 1
    Day number 1
Arrive into Telluride (see FAQ for airport and shuttle options) and settle into your accommodations at The Peaks Resort & Spa in Mountain Village. Grab a drink on-site at Altezza, with panoramic views out to Mt. Wilson, take a few steps to one of numerous haunts in the Village, or take the Gondola into Telluride town (highly recommended). All in all, you’ve got 60+ options for eating and drinking here so the possibilities are endless, from food trucks and super casual fare to fine dining at its best.
  • 2
    Day number 2
Rise and shine! The next three days are yours to ski and ride to your heart’s content, and mix it up with all that this area has to offer. From the town of Telluride at an elevation 8,750’, to Palmyra Peak at 13,320’ and back to the Mountain Village at 9,545’, the options are endless.

Want to ride into Telluride town? There are three lifts serving primarily advanced and expert runs, often filled with steep moguled terrain. Once you’ve done enough laps for the day, you can post up for an apres bite and beverage, and/or take the free Gondola up and over this terrain back to the Peaks Resort & Spa in Mountain Village.
  • 3
    Day number 3
From your home base in the Mountain Village, you’ve got prime access to the entire Telluride ski area. Chair 4, the Village Express accesses some of the best intermediate terrain on the mountain. This is also where Telluride’s terrain park is located -- one of the best in the area. Chair 14 serves one of the best intermediate runs in Colorado, See Forever. Groomed daily, See Forever lives up to its name, snaking down the high ridge with breathtaking views of multiple 14’ers, the name for Colorado’s 14,000’ peaks.
  • 4
    Day number 4
After a day getting your legs back, feel free to challenge yourself! Advanced and expert skiers will want to head to lifts 12, 14, and 15 to sample Telluride’s awesome bowls and chutes. Chair 12 accesses Black Iron Bowl, and the highest point in the ski area, Palmyra peak. These lines require hikes (Telluride Hike-to Terrain) ranging from 5-45 minutes, with an additional 60-90 to get to the peak. Revelation Bowl, served by Chair 15, is filled with awesome wide open skiing and snowboarding for advanced riders. It also access the famed “Stairway to Heaven,” a metal staircase along the ridge knife-edge ridge that leads to the extreme Gold Hill Chutes 6-10. This terrain is some of the steepest and gnarliest inbounds terrain in Colorado and the US as a whole.
  • 5
    Day number 5
On your last morning, grab a hearty breakfast (or one of town’s famed brunches, if time allows), check out of The Peaks, and catch your shuttle or drive to the airport, depending on your plans. Winter temps in Telluride range between the single digits and low to mid 30’s and because the resort sits at 13,000 ft the skiing can be quite cold (hello blower pow!). Come spring temps are increasingly warmer and averages from the high teens to mid 40’s. Be sure to pack your warm layers for days on the hill along with a buff to protect against the snow, wind and high alpine sun! Don’t forget your swimsuit for the resort swimming pool.
