Enjoy another breakfast at the Boardwalk, pack your lunch and head to the hill. Today we’ll practice what we tried on the trampolines and work on our progression through the park. Area Information

Timberline Lodge Ski Area

High Cascade and Windell’s year-round home at Timberline Lodge is the only ski resort in North America that is open for all 12 months, giving them the longest season of any ski resort... in the world.

On this adult ski camp package, we ride high atop Mount Hood's Palmer Snowfield, where—thanks to its elevation and geographic positioning—it's able to collect and maintain snow (a lot of snow!) year-round. In addition to the pristine park, Timberline boasts over two miles of "skiable" terrain, accessible via two high-speed quad chair lifts throughout the summer months.

Speaking of "a lot of snow", Mount Hood averages over 500" of snowfall yearly and, up on the Palmer Snow Field, it's not uncommon to reach snow depths of 30-50' (yes, feet!). On top of that, unlike many ski resorts in North America, Timberline relies on 100% natural snowfall, meaning you can shred "REAL SNOW" all year long.

Trip Planning

Summer in Oregon is usually very sunny, dry, and warm. There can, however, be unexpected weather conditions at times. To make the most of your camp experience, we encourage you to be prepared and to bring a variety of clothing for warm and cold weather. Also, remember that you will be on the snow for most of the week so be sure to bring the proper sun protection for riding under the bright summer sun!

FAQ
FAQ
  • What are the accommodations like?
We stay in Boardwalk Chalet in Government Camp Oregon. A well appointed vacation rental complete with hot tubs, game room, and private chef.
  • What skill/experience level is required for this trip?
All levels! Beginner to advanced skiers and riders are welcome on this trip. White water rafting is rated as a Level 1-2 and is capable for youth, beginners and intermediate rafters.
  • What gear should I bring? Do you offer rentals?
Demo equipment will be included for everyone when it comes to bikes, surfboards, wetsuits, and bike gear. However, often our adults feel more comfortable with their own equipment. High Cascades offers a wide selection of next years snowboards to demo, however, it is strongly recommended that you bring your own gear as supply is limited in some sizes. As for ski demo equipment, we highly recommend bringing your own gear. While High Cascades has a decent stock of skis, most sizes run in 180s with limited sets of boots. Please let evo and HCSC know if you will be needing rentals. As always, refer to our website for ski/board recommendations and how to best travel with gear.
  • What if I need to cancel? evo will refer to HCSC’s cancelation policy which is as follows:
We are proud to offer the most lenient cancellation policy in the industry. Snowboarding is awesome, but sometimes life gets in the way and we don’t want to punish you for that. If you need to cancel your session please call 503.206.8520 to discuss your options, however a formal cancellation request must be made by email following the instructions below. Cancel prior to 30 days before the start of your camp and receive a refund less a cancellation fee of 50% of the deposit up to $250 per session OR receive a full camp credit, good for two years and non-transferable. Cancel within 30 days of the start of your camp and receive a refund less a cancellation fee of your deposit up to $500 per session OR Receive a camp credit less 50% of the deposit up to $250 per session, good for 2 years and non-transferable. Cancel within 10 days of the start of your camp for any reason and receive a camp credit less a cancellation fee of your deposit up to $500 per session, good for 2 years and non-transferable. Please keep in mind there are NO exceptions to the above cancellation policies (even in the extreme case of emergency, injury or sickness). Your registration constitutes acceptance of this Cancellation Policy. High Cascade strongly recommends that you purchase travel insurance to protect yourself from any such loss.
  • When and how do I meet up with the group?
Please book a flight into the Portland International Airport (PDX) on the first day of your session between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Please book your departure flight out of PDX between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the last day of your session. There is no snowboarding on the first or last days; they are designated travel days. Any flights on arrival day or departure day that are not between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. will be charged $100-$175 per camper, per trip, depending on the time of the flight. There is a 30 minute grace period for this window, i.e; if your flight is scheduled to depart at 7:30 a.m. we will not charge a fee. Please contact us directly if you are unable to book a flight in our requested window and we will discuss your flight options and pick-up/drop-off fees.
  • What will the food be like? Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Food is prepared and served by our private chef highlighting local PNW ingredients. We can accommodate most dietary restrictions, please call in advance for dietary restrictions.
  • What is the minimum and maximum number of guests per trip?
Each trip is guaranteed to run and will close at 30 guests per trip. Please wait for confirmation from evo and HCSC to confirm your space on the trip before you purchase your flights.
  • Is there a minimum age required for this trip?
Yes, guests must be at least 21 years old for all departures except for the July 15 - 22, departure, which has a minimum age of 18 years old.
  • How does it work with so many different ability levels at each session?
Campers are placed into small coaching groups with 6-8 campers per coach. These coaching groups are based on ability levels, so that you feel comfortable progressing with riders of similar ability. Before you come to camp you’ll fill out an ability questionnaire which will help us place you in the best possible coaching group. It is important that you fill out the ability form accurately so that you are placed in a group appropriate for your ability. If you end up in the wrong group we can move you to a new group as needed.
  • Do I need travel insurance?
While it is not required, we always recommend purchasing travel insurance for all trips. Travel insurance allows you to seek reimbursement if you are forced to cancel your trip for unforeseeable reasons, or if you need to cover medical help, emergency transport, theft and/or accidental damage while traveling. We recommend World Nomads.
