You'll be hard-pressed to find a better bang for buck than the Norco Fluid HT 2 Complete Mountain Bike. Entry-level MTBs can be a minefield for QC and component issues, but this one's on the right side of that issue. Norco has made an entry-level hardtail that's solid, fun to ride, and imminently upgradeable, should you look to make it even better. A mountain bike like this is probably the most versatile bicycle on the planet: trails, commutes, neighborhood cruises. This is pure fun on two wheels!
Lightweight Aluminum Frame – The premium X6 double-butted aluminum 6061 alloy frame features size-scaled tubing to maintain the same ride quality across all frame sizes. Thoughtful design details such as internal cable routing and smooth welding allow for clean lines and a quiet, rattle-free ride.
Progressive Design – The Fluid HT uses Norco's holistic approach to fit and geometry to achieve its playful, capable singletrack performance. The unique combination of longer reach, slacker head tube angle and steep seat tube angle provides a more forward weight distribution within a longer wheelbase. This allows for more powerful pedaling, increased climbing traction and added grip and control when descending so you can confidently navigate the trail.
SR Suntour XCM32 – This is an entry level MTB fork with an adjustable coil spring and 32mm stanchions.
Shimano Deore 1x11 – A capable, efficient, and confidence-inspiring drivetrain. Wide enough gear ratio and good gear step optimized for everything from steep climbs to fast decents. Smooth shifting of front and rear in rhythm in order to maintain speed and acceleration in change of terrain. Less loss of pedaling power by rigid structure with easy and effortless shifting operation. Improved stability and chain retention of drivetrain in rough terrain.
Tektro HD-M275 Hydraulic Disc Brakes – An open system, dual piston disc brake system. 160mm rotor in the rear, 180mm in the front.
Maxxis Ardent Tires – An aggressive tread in high-volume casing, designed with great traction in mind. The Ardent doesn't forget the racer with large block-style side knobs offering numerous edges for high-speed cornering. The center tread, while ideal for braking and accelerating traction, also features ramped knobs to minimize rolling resistance. With a wide variety of size offerings, the Ardent captures every mountain rider's needs.
