They had to do it, and here it is: the Lib Tech T.Rice Orca Splitboard filets the favorite in twain, making the convertible pow killer the world has been waiting for. There's not much to say that you can't figure out on your own. This board is light, floaty, and ready for critical deep snow maneuvers in faraway places. Lib is offering the Orca split in three pow-ready sizes but only one speed: very very fast. Divide and conquer with this, the gnarliest splitboard in all the land. True open water domination is yours for the taking!

C2X – A shorter, more aggressive banana rocker combined with cambers that sit more underfoot. Extra solid tip and tail pressure for power, pop, precision and end-to-end stability combined with a medium amount of pressure between your feet for carving, edge hold on ice and float in pow.

Medium - Stiff Flex – Stout enough to charge your hardest but without excessive harshness.

Volume-Shifted Directional – Made to float, aim for 3cm shorter than your normal board.

Splitboarding A splitboard snowboard is built specifically for the backcountry rider. Splitboards are designed to break down into two separate halves for touring and uphill travel (with climbing skins). Special bindings are required as well. Once you've reached the top of the terrain feature, you reconnect your splitboard for the ride back downhill. However, it's important to note that you will need appropriate backcountry tools, knowledge of the backcountry, weather and snow conditions and climbing skins to safely take advantage of the freedom of a splitboard.

Stiff The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
