The all-new Locator series brings Armada's special blend of freestyle heritage and creative style to the ultralight touring market, and the outcome is something special. The Armada Locator 96 Skis are the most traditional touring skis in the series, with a sub 100 waist width and a respectably airy 1350 gram weight. But those techy uphill numbers are paired with smooth lines and tapered tips to make for a ski you can count on for long, technical missions without sacrificing any fun on the descents. Plus, they're unisex and come in two color options: so you can pick what's best for your style and stature.

EST Freeride Rocker – Forebody rocker and extra tip taper combine to create EST for optimized float in the soft stuff. Positive camber under foot with no tail rocker ensures these skis stay on rails when carving is the priority.

Core

Caruba Core – Armada's lightest wood species creates the best uphill feel while retaining the power and dampness required for descending in the gnarliest of terrain. This core makes no concessions in its quest to be ultralight.

Laminates

TI Binding Dampener – Below the binding, a sandwich of rubber, titanal, and finally more rubber works to dampen vibration that otherwise chatters into your bots and shortens your day. Ski bell to bell with extra damping provided.

Carbon Reinforcement – Specially placed carbon stringers add pop and stiffness without adding weight.

Base

Comp Series Base – Sintered UHMW polyethylene with added carbon aids in speed and durability on snow.

Edges

1.7 Lightweight Edge – Light and strong, these heat-treated edges effect the feel of the ski minimally to ensure a snappy, lightweight feel.

The Atomic Backland Tour Alpine Touring Ski Bindings are super lightweight, easy-to-use tech bindings for fast and light touring. Weighing in at less that 400 grams a pop, they're some of the lightest brake equipped touring bindings on the market. The heel tower and its mounting plate are burly and provide good power transfer, and most of all the binding tours exceptionally well, switching from hike to ski and shifting through riser settings with on-the-fly ease.
