Grouse Mountain Skiing & Snowboarding Resort Guide
While the mountain is a tiny 212 skiable acres, Grouse Mountain offers a totally unique ski and snowboard experience. Located in the mountains overlooking Vancouver, Grouse Mountain is the closest ski and snowboard area to Vancouver, only a 20 minute drive from the city’s downtown. The Skyride tram climbs from 1,000’ of elevation to the base of the ski and snowboard area at 3,700’. The views from the top during the day and night are amazing.
Skiers and snowboarders visiting Grouse Mountain start by boarding the Vancouver Skyride Tram, which accesses the summit and skiable terrain. The tram has amazing views of the city, as does most of Grouse Mountain. Four chairlifts access the 212 acres of skiable terrain. Beginners have learning areas at the top, and the longest run at Grouse, The Cut. This run is a don’t miss for everyone, however, due to the epic views. Intermediate skiers and snowboarders can cruise down to Blueberry Bowl. There is also the most difficult rated terrain here, too, off of the Olympic Express chairlift. All in all, there are 26 runs, with limited off-piste options. Grouse Mountain has some really fun terrain park setup throughout the year, too. It is hard to beat jumping and jibbing high over Vancouver. Grouse mountain is open until 10pm in the winter with night skiing over the lit up city.

Where to Find Lift Tickets to Grouse Mountain
Ski and snowboard lift tickets to Grouse Mountain are among the cheapest lift tickets in British Columbia. Lift tickets include one uphill, and one downhill ride on the Skyride Tram. Skyride Tram rides are available to non-skiers and snowboarders, too. Full day lift tickets, and night lift tickets (4pm-10pm) are available. Grouse Mountain sees 342” of average annual snowfall throughout the year. While deep powder and great off piste skiing are not the forte at Grouse, it can be a ton of fun to rip around in fresh snow. The relatively low elevation does mean that Grouse is more susceptible to rain and coastal fog. Grouse Mountain delivers an awesome skiing and snowboarding experience less than half an hour from Downtown Vancouver. Even though the mountain is small, the lift tickets are cheap, the terrain parks are fun, and the views are unbeatable.
