Dive deep into the geo chart, analyze the anti-squat, run some simulations on your machine-learning Mandelbrot fractalbot, you'll come to the same conclusion as the bike fiend dingdongs who just throw a leg over and go pedal it for 20 minutes: the Santa Cruz Bicycles Tallboy 5 CC X0 AXS Complete Mountain Bike is one of the best XC bikes known to fun-focused humankind. Not only has Santa Cruz laced it with the same suspension as their bigger bikes, but they've added their Glovebox™ frame storage and the incredible SRAM Eagle AXS Transmission, a revolutionary new design which ditches your trusty derailleur hanger to mount directly to the frame. Engineered for maximum durability, the new derailleur shifts better under load and features a modular, servicable design for easier repairs. This bike is certified bananas.
Carbon CC Frame – Santa Cruz's highest grade CC-level carbon frame is every bit as stiff and strong as their C-level frame, but weighs about 280 grams less, due to the use of lighter, stronger, and more expensive carbon fiber. Santa Cruz is also able to truly integrate the shock mounts, pivot mounts, dropouts and disc brake tabs into the structure, using all uni-directional carbon plies. The shock mount isn't merely riveted or bonded on after curing, but is an integrated part of the fiber lay-up. This makes Santa Cruz's carbon frames incredibly strong and able to absorb impact better than any other frame they've tested.
Lower-Link Mounted VPP® Suspension – VPP is based on the patented principle of having two short links rotating in opposite directions. This system provides huge design flexibility, allowing Santa Cruz to manipulate shock rates to the intended purpose and character of each model; from short travel endurance bikes to World Championship winning DH machines. This redesign mounts the shock lower on the bike, making for an even better ride quality.
Fox Float Factory DPS Rear Shock – A lightweight chassis, EVOL air spring, and dual piston damper with 3-position switch create a pedal-friendly shock that soaks up the bumps and delivers pedal power to the ground with utmost efficiency.
Shock Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure / Lever Actuated Open, Medium, Firm Modes (with Open Mode Tuning Range 1, 2, 3) / Rebound
The Glovebox™ – Seal whatever you want to carry on your ride inside your downtube. Secure and easy to access, the Glovebox™ has a Tool Wallet and Tube Purse inside, to help organize your stuff too. Simply cavernous!

Fox 34 Float Factory – Smoother, lighter, more tunable, and more capable than ever before; when it comes to a do-it-all trail fork the 34 is in a class of its own.
SRAM X0 Eagle AXS Transmission – The next generation SRAM Eagle Transmission is a radically robust, fully integrated and interdependent wireless drivetrain. Built around the universal constant of the wheel axle itself, the Full Mount hangerless attachment creates a far stronger connection to the frame with a super tough derailleur. Shifting under load is made possible due to a combination of X-SYNC technology and cassette mapping, creating seamless shifts even during your hardest power output. The new AXS Pods are extremely ergonomic and highly customizable, so shifting gears is light and intuitive.
SRAM Code Silver Stealth – SRAM's legendary, full-powered brake now features a new technology to improve your cockpit aesthetic: Stealth. The all-new lever body design brings the hose closer to the bar, allowing for a sleeker, more modern ride. The proven internals remain the same, with SwingLink driving its signature feel.
SRAM HS2 Rotors – When it comes to heat dissipation, and therefore power, thicker is better. SRAM's new HS2 rotors are 2.0mm thick, helping them avoid heat fade and maintain their power on long descents.
RaceFace ARC Offset 30 29" Rims Laced to Industry Nine 1/1 Hubs – Bomber 6069 aluminum rims on Industry Nine's storied hubs: these wheels are meant to take a beating. They're made to handle the toughest trails around without a weight penalty, balanced and incredibly durable.
Maxxis Forekaster Tires – The new version of the Maxxis Forekaster is aimed squarely at modern short travel (100mm-130mm) trail bikes – aka the “downcountry” segment. Intended to be a Goldilocks tire, the new Forekaster rolls faster than a Minion or Dissector but provides more predictable cornering, climbing, and braking traction than the Aspen or Rekon.
