Pack your lunchbox, it's time for a midday power hour. The Yeti Cycles SB140 LR C1 Complete Mountain Bike continues Yeti's Lunch Ride series of bikes, pumping up their base models in suspension travel and overall burliness. Made to replicate the personal bikes of Yeti's employees and their daily rides on Colorado's rugged Front Range trails, this SB140 has a bigger fork and more DH-capable rear shock. This makes an already-capable trail bike into one that's ready for the extra challenge of outshining your buddies in heavier terrain. It'll still get to the top as smoothly as the normal SB140, it'll just be a bit better on the descents and at handling bigger impacts. Think of it as pre-customized!
C/Series Carbon Frame – Over the course of hundreds of virtual simulation comparisons and back-to-back carbon prototype testing, Yeti has refined their carbon layups to deliver consistent torsional stiffness and flex profiles across all frame sizes. The feel is precise yet compliant while structurally balancing light weight and durability.
Switch Infinity Suspension – The new line of Yeti Switch Infinity bikes builds on their award-winning performance with subtle refined leverage rates that have been adjusted for the added travel of each new bike. This balanced approach to leverage rate results in an incredibly predictable ride.
Fox Float X Performance Rear Shock – Designed specifically to meet the demands of aggressive trail riders, the new Float X combines sophisticated damping and fade free performance with incredible light weight and outstanding structural integrity.
Shock Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure / Lever-Actuated Open, Medium, Closed Compression / Rebound
Better Shock Tuning – Yeti has been tuning shocks in-house to ensure their kinematics pair seamlessly with their shocks. Using data acquisition and their shock dyno they are able to correlate hours of ride testing, splitting hairs over tenths of millimeters, to deliver the most out of their suspensions. The final tune is the result of countless hours of ride and lab testing with multiple, ground-up shock tunes going into the decision.
Frame Protection – An external hard cap provides impact resistance over a rubber under-guard that provides cushion against the frame.
Full Drop – Yeti's seat tubes are shorter to allow for longer dropper posts.
Internal Cable Routing with Secure Frame Ports – This may seem like a small thing, but having a clean aesthetic on the frame along with internally molded carbon tubes inside for hassle-free cable routing is key. It makes for a quiet ride and ease of maintenance. For Yeti, building a great frame is all about the details.
New Pivot Designs – Yeti's new pivot designs use 100% standard sized cartridge bearings secured with precision -- machined floating collet axles. All bearings are pressed into the linkage assembly vs. the swingarm or front triangle. The end result is perfect alignment and smooth suspension motion every time, boosting longevity.
Refined New School Geometry – From size-specific seat tube angles and chain stay lengths, to new reach numbers that keep both wheels weighted, Yeti's concentrated on making a more balanced ride. Yeti engineers and designers mined the depths of every millimeter to create a nuanced set of refinements that deliver another leap forward in how well a mountain bike can ride.
Universal Derailleur Hanger – If a hanger-bending crash occurs, the new Yeti models use the Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) interface -- the industry standard mount for a rear derailleur. The UDH is available in nearly any bike shop, Yeti dealer or not.
Patented Compact Wishbone and Ultra Compact Suspension Link – The goal is simple: optimizing leverage rates while pushing the shock forward in the frame. This forward positioning allows for a large range of shock compatibility, decreases standover height, reduces shock tab sizes, increases water bottle compatibility, and increases downtube clearance.
Fox 36 Performance – The all-mountain champ and a favorite of hard-charging trail riders everywhere. For MY23 the Fox 36 receives an update in the form of a new crown with updated design and engineering for more steer tube overlap improving durability and maintaining stiffness while dropping 20 grams.
Fork Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure / Lever-Actuated Open, Medium, Firm Compression Positions / Low Speed Rebound (10 Clicks)
Shimano SLX – SLX is ready to go wherever and whenever you want, whether it’s an all-day epic, the local cross country race, or a post-work ride with your buddies. It won’t let you down.
Shimano SLX 4 Piston – The SLX M7120 caliper features consistent braking performance and reliable stopping power in all conditions. The 4-piston caliper instills greater downhill confidence and control, with an easy-to-maintain mineral oil system.
Shimano Rotors – 203mm Front / 180mm Rear
Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Wheelset – With front and rear wheels tuned and optimized to address the specific performance requirements and loads of mountain biking, this wheelset is a strong and light option for aggressive trail riders. The compliant front wheel improves handling and maximizes grip and turning control, while the stiffer rear wheel supports peak loads and enhances stability and tracking at speed.
Maxxis Minion DHF Front Tire – With a tread design that deftly balances rolling speed with braking and cornering traction, it’s no wonder why the Minion DHF is one of the most imitated tires in mountain biking.
Maxxis Minion DHRII Rear Tire – With side knobs borrowed from the legendary Minion DHF, but widened to provide more support, the DHR II corners like no other. The center tread features ramped leading edges to improve acceleration and sipes to create a smooth transition when leaning the bike. Paddle-like knobs on the center tread dig in under hard braking and help keep the bike under control. Pair it with a Minion DHF up front for the ultimate aggressive trail riding tire combo!
