The Yeti Cycles SB160 C2 Complete Mountain Bike is the newest big hitter from Yeti is even more balanced and all-around fast than the 165s before it. Yeti's dropped 5mm of rear travel for this model, but improved the suspension kinematics to a point where you'll be sure they added more when you rumble through the rough stuff. They've tightened up the shock linkages to deliver a more efficient package, while increasing chassis stiffness and ground clearance. In short, the SB160 is prepared to bomb down every heavy trail faster than you've ever gone, all while showing off those striking good looks. A race bike that's balanced enough to ride every day, the SB160 is otherworldly.
C/Series Carbon Frame – Over the course of hundreds of virtual simulation comparisons and back-to-back carbon prototype testing, Yeti has refined their carbon layups to deliver consistent torsional stiffness and flex profiles across all frame sizes. The feel is precise yet compliant while structurally balancing light weight and durability.
Switch Infinity Suspension – The new line of Yeti Switch Infinity bikes builds on their award-winning performance with subtle refined leverage rates that have been adjusted for the added travel of each new bike. This balanced approach to leverage rate results in an incredibly predictable ride.
Fox Float X Performance Rear Shock – Designed specifically to meet the demands of aggressive trail riders, the new Float X combines sophisticated damping and fade free performance with incredible light weight and outstanding structural integrity.
Shock Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure / Open/Firm Compression Lever / Low Speed Rebound / Low Speed Compression
Frame Protection – An external hard cap provides impact resistance over a rubber under-guard that provides cushion against the frame.
Better Shock Tuning – Yeti has been tuning shocks in-house to ensure their kinematics pair seamlessly with their shocks. Using data acquisition and their shock dyno they are able to correlate hours of ride testing, splitting hairs over tenths of millimeters, to deliver the most out of their suspensions. The final tune is the result of countless hours of ride and lab testing with multiple, ground-up shock tunes going into the decision.
Full Drop – Yeti's seat tubes are shorter to allow for longer dropper posts.
Internal Cable Routing with Secure Frame Ports – This may seem like a small thing, but having a clean aesthetic on the frame along with internally molded carbon tubes inside for hassle-free cable routing is key. It makes for a quiet ride and ease of maintenance. For Yeti, building a great frame is all about the details.
New Pivot Designs – Yeti's new pivot designs use 100% standard sized cartridge bearings secured with precision -- machined floating collet axles. All bearings are pressed into the linkage assembly vs. the swingarm or front triangle. The end result is perfect alignment and smooth suspension motion every time, boosting longevity.
Patented Compact Wishbone and Ultra Compact Suspension Link – The goal is simple: optimizing leverage rates while pushing the shock forward in the frame. This forward positioning allows for a large range of shock compatibility, decreases standover height, reduces shock tab sizes, increases water bottle compatibility, and increases downtube clearance.
Universal Derailleur Hanger – If a hanger-bending crash occurs, the new Yeti models use the Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) interface -- the industry standard mount for a rear derailleur. The UDH is available in nearly any bike shop, Yeti dealer or not.
Fox 38 Performance – When you need to go really big, reach for the 38. Optimized for 160-180mm of travel and packing the same revolutionary feature set as the 36, the 38 redefines what you think a long travel single crown fork is capable of, and sets a new benchmark for confidence, performance, and durability. Welcome to the big time.
Fork Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure / Lever-Actuated Open, Medium, Firm Compression Positions / Low Speed Rebound (10 Clicks)
SRAM GX Eagle – GX Eagle is your partner for all rides, all the time, all day. Long days, quick rides and everything in-between, GX Eagle is the ecosystem at its best. With the all new 520% range, all new colourways and seamless compatibility with the rest of the ecosystem, GX Eagle is there to maximize the potential of your ride experience.
SRAM Code R – For superior braking power, SRAM built Code R with their DirectLink lever mated to an oversized four-piston caliper. Finger ergonomics adapt with a tool-free reach adjust - offering a perfect balance of all forces: reliable, practical and - naturally - powerful.
SRAM Centerline Rotors – 220mm Front / 200mm Rear
DT Swiss E1900 Spline | 30mm – Your entire focus lies on the right line choice, the exact braking point and the spot-on steering movement. All the everyday stress fades away, you feel free and only hear the precise sound of the freehub system. The E 1900 Spline was developed precisely for these freewheeling moments. A proven aluminum rim, a Ratchet LN freehub system and hand-laced steel spokes provide the reliability required from an Enduro wheel.
Maxxis Assegai Front Tire – Greg Minnaar’s signature tire – the Maxxis Assegai – provides tenacious, predictable grip across the entire profile no matter the lean angle. The Assegai can be used front and rear for a surefooted feel or as a front paired with a faster rolling rear tire.
Maxxis Minion DHRII Rear Tire – With side knobs borrowed from the legendary Minion DHF, but widened to provide more support, the DHR II corners like no other. The center tread features ramped leading edges to improve acceleration and sipes to create a smooth transition when leaning the bike. Paddle-like knobs on the center tread dig in under hard braking and help keep the bike under control. Pair it with a Minion DHF up front for the ultimate aggressive trail riding tire combo!
