When you're piloting a bike of this caliber, it's only fitting that you have the ability to fine-tune your ride depending on terrain and conditions. From huge to gnarbuckle and everything in between, this Shimano SLX build won't shy away from the heavy duty moves that this bike was made for, that's for sure. 27.5" wheels, long travel, slack geo: the modern freeride bike is alive and well, and it's called the SB165.
C/Series Carbon Frame – By making small changes in the carbon fiber layup of their TURQ Series bikes, Yeti was able to create a more aggressively priced carbon high-performance mountain bike. C-Series frames maintain the strength and stiffness of the TURQ Series. The carbon fiber in C-Series weighs a bit more, about 190g per frame. Every bike model is offered in at least one C-Series option with high-end components.
Switch Infinity Suspension – Switch Infinity utilizes a patented translating pivot that switches direction as the bike moves through its travel. This provides excellent anti-squat characteristics for superior pedaling performance and ideal suspension characteristics as it gets deeper into the travel.
Fox DHX2 Performance Elite Rear Shock – Ready to race, right out of the box. Known for its supple feel, the DHX2 has all the World Cup level features you could ask for. It is, after all, the same shock the pros ride. Featuring an entirely new chassis and damper, delivering enhanced tunability, smoother performance, and more progressivity than ever before.
Shock Adjustments – Coil Spring Preload, 2 Position Open, Firm Lever, Low Speed Compression (16 Clicks), Low Speed Rebound (16 Clicks)
Internal Cable Routing – This may seem like a small thing, but having a clean aesthetic on the frame along with internally molded carbon tubes inside for hassle-free cable routing is key. It makes for a quiet ride and ease of maintenance. For Yeti, building a great frame is all about the details.
Integrated Axle and Hanger – The integrated axle and derailleur hanger system is built for simplicity and strength. Utilizing a left-hand thread to secure the hanger allows Yeti to incorporate the same machine piece for the axle retention. A clever little system the engineers spent many hours on that might get overlooked.
Integrated Frame Protection – The frame protectors for the down tube and chainstay are custom molded to match the frame. This guarantees a proper fit and adhesion to the frame for years of protection without the need for replacement or additional adhesives.
Bottle Cage Mount – Within the front triangle, fits piggyback shocks.
148mm Rear Axle Spacing
Sealed Enduro Max Bearing Pivots
Fox 38 Performance – Packing the same revolutionary feature set as the legendary 36, the new 38mm stanchion redefines what's possible with a single crown fork. Smoother, stiffer, and ready for the big time, this fork has 180mm of customizable travel.
Fork Adjustments – FIT GRIP 3-Position Lever (Open, Medium, Firm), Rebound Adjust, Air Spring Pressure
Shimano SLX – SLX is ready to go wherever and whenever you want, whether it’s an all-day epic, the local cross country race, or a post-work ride with your buddies. It won’t let you down.
SRAM G2 R Brakeset – The core of brake performance is consistency. Reliability. Trust. And with G2 R, SRAM focused on offering a premium value without compromising the heart of the operation. This brake gives riders the G2s famed “Mini-Code” power and a whole suite of SRAM standard features at an absolutely unbeatable value.
SRAM CenterLine Rotors – The CenterLine design provides a smooth, consistent, and quiet running braking surface.
DT Swiss E1900 Wheelset – With a 370 3-pawl hub, strong and lightweight 30mm wide aluminum rims, and DT Champion straightpull spokes, these wheels mean business. These will have you flying up and down with confidence and speed.
Maxxis Assegai Front Tire – The Maxxis Assegai tire is named after the iron-tipped spear used by the Zulu people of South Africa. Greg Minnaar, a native of South Africa, thought it was a fitting name for a tire ready to do battle on the mountain. The tall knobs punch through dust and loam to find traction, but also offer support and confidence on wet roots and rocks. While other tires excel only in certain conditions, the new Maxxis Assegai is built to go fast everywhere.
Maxxis Minion DHR II Rear Tire – With side knobs borrowed from the legendary Minion DHF, but widened to provide more support, the DHR II corners like no other. The center tread features ramped leading edges to improve acceleration and sipes to create a smooth transition when leaning the bike. Paddle-like knobs on the center tread dig in under hard braking and help keep the bike under control.
Fox Transfer Dropper Seatpost – The latest Transfer keeps its smooth action and low-height stack design, but shaves 25g and updates its internals for even easier serviceability.
