What's more mega than mega? The Santa Cruz Bicycles Megatower CC X01 Coil Reserve Complete Mountain Bike goes one gnarlier: with more travel up front and a downhill shock out back, this bike supercharges the already scary-fast enduro beast. The VPP suspension tracks even better with a coil, staying completely unfazed at too-fast-for-trail speed. Massive brakes handle the deceleration duties as heavy duty tires grip like dragon claws...add in the Reserve Carbon wheels (with that lifetime warranty) and this bike really is without subtlety or tact. Perfect!
Carbon CC Frame – Santa Cruz's highest grade CC-level carbon frame is every bit as stiff and strong as their C-level frame, but weighs about 280 grams less, due to the use of lighter, stronger, and more expensive carbon fiber. Santa Cruz is also able to truly integrate the shock mounts, pivot mounts, dropouts and disc brake tabs into the structure, using all uni-directional carbon plies. The shock mount isn't merely riveted or bonded on after curing, but is an integrated part of the fiber lay-up. This makes Santa Cruz's carbon frames incredibly strong and able to absorb impact better than any other frame they've tested.
Lower-Link Mounted VPP® Suspension – VPP is based on the patented principle of having two short links rotating in opposite directions. This system provides huge design flexibility, allowing Santa Cruz to manipulate shock rates to the intended purpose and character of each model; from short travel endurance bikes to World Championship winning DH machines. This redesign mounts the shock lower on the bike, making for an even better ride quality.
Fox DHX2 Factory Coil Rear Shock – Featuring an entirely new chassis and damper, delivering enhanced tunability, smoother performance, and more progressivity than ever before. This shock is ready to race right out of the box, with that signature Fox suppleness and tons of adjustability.
Shock Adjustments – 2-Position Open / Firm Lever (retains high and low speed compression setting) | Coil Preload | HSC 8 Clicks | LSC 16 Clicks | HSR (w/VVC) 8 Clicks | LSR 16 Clicks
Bottle Cage Mount – Within the front triangle, fits piggyback shocks.
Dropout Flip Chip – Allows 10mm chainstay length adjustment.
148mm Rear Axle Spacing
Angular Contact Bearings Maximize Stiffness
Internal Brake and Dropper Cable Routing
ISCG-05 Tabs for Chainguide Compatibility

Fox 38 Float Factory – With a stiffness-to-weight ratio never before seen in a single crown fork, this is the new fork of choice for big terrain. The Factory trim has all the latest technology, from bleeder valves and new leg channels on the lowers, to Kashima-coated stanchions, from an elliptical steerer to its floating axle. The highly tuneable GRIP2 damper and Factory internals are also second to none.
VVC (Variable Valve Control) – VVC is a proprietary variable valve control system that allows for external fine-tuning of suspension performance. VVC achieves with the twist of a knob what typically requires the time consuming and complicated task of completely disassembling and reassembling the fork.
Fork Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure, High-Speed Compression and Rebound Adjust (8-Clicks), Low-Speed Compression and Rebound Adjust (16-Clicks)
SRAM X01 Eagle™ – The X01 Eagle™ drivetrain signals an exciting new era of freedom and the next level of uncompromising performance for enduro racers and aggressive trail riders. Watching the world’s best racers use their parts to battle against nature, physics and time itself, has inspired SRAM to supply them with the most advanced tools we can develop. X01 Eagle™ takes everything you love about SRAM's pioneering 1x drivetrains and increases its wear life, toughness, precision, smooth and silent operation. Add to that the 10- to 50-tooth, 12-speed, Eagle™ cassette, and you have a range of gears that gives you the freedom to enjoy the benefit of 1x in any terrain, any location and at any speed. X01 Eagle™ is drivetrain freedom—how you exploit it is up to you.
Avid CenterLine Rotors – The new CenterLine Rotor was designed to keep the center of friction consistent throughout rotation thereby minimizing vibration offering consistent performance and a quiet ride.
SRAM Code RSC Brakeset – Code dominates the World Cup — and every downhill trail worth its salt. In the gravity world, this is the pinnacle of performance, power and control. SRAM's famous big brakes have 4-piston calipers, a large reservoir, and fistfuls of power.
Maxxis Assegai Front Tire – With tall knobs that punch through dust and loam to find traction, this tire offers support and confidence on wet roots and rocks. While other tires excel only in certain conditions, the new Maxxis Assegai is built to go fast everywhere.
Maxxis Minion DHR II Rear Tire – A real rider's tire choice, these Minions bring a mix of rolling resistance, wear, and performance that can't be beat.
Race Face ARC Offset 30 29" Rims Laced to DT Swiss 350 Hubs – Trail feel, durability, and light weights: get it all in this high-performance race wheelset. There are no compromises in these alloy rings of heaven, they're ready for aggressive trail rides at any time.
Santa Cruz Carbon Handlebar – Designed and made exclusively by Santa Cruz, using everything they've learned from creating World Championship winning carbon bicycles. Each bar has a dialed amount of stiffness, keeping vibration in check and minimizing arm fatigue. Discrete markers take the pain out of set-up alignments and stealth branding keeps things class.
