Technical Details

The K2 Passport is a volume shifted directional all mountain freeride snowboard. It’s equipped with triax glass and 10 integrated carbon stringers, this makes this board feel super poppy and lively without it feeling too rigid. It has a sintered base allowing for great wax absorption for the smoothest feeling ride. The flex is rated 7/10, which is that perfect balance of performance and playful, it’s capable of bombing chop with ease while being flexible enough to flow. The combination camber profile really gives you the best of both worlds by blending traditional camber for pop and precision with the float of rocker in the tip and tail. The base is wider than your typical board allowing for great float in powder without it being so wide you feel like you’re driving a tank.

Ride Impressions

Directional camber with a slight setback is my ideal board shape, and a shape you need in your quiver if you don’t have it all ready. It feels effortless to ride in powder while still being dynamic and lively for resort riding. While it is designed for more advanced riding, that 7 flex definitely makes for a more approachable feel. Living in the PNW you never know what the mountain is going to throw at you when you go up. You can get lucky with powder, some leftover chunder, or straight rain. But the good news is this board is going to be a blast regardless of the conditions. It can handle the pow, the chop and the groomers all with a sturdy poppy flair. The gorgeous base and top sheet make it almost as fun to look at off the mountain as it is fun riding on mountain.

Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

  • Fun in all conditions.
  • Lots of sizes to choose from - anyone who wants to can take this board for a rip.
  • I can’t stop looking at how pretty it is!

  • Takes some getting used to the wider feel if you’ve been riding a popsicle stick.
  • Having to get rid of all of my other boards because this is the only one I want to ride.

Who Is It For?

This is your board for taking your riding to the next level. Maybe you started on something that’s softer, twin, flat, etc. and you feel like you have outgrown the baby steps and are ready to run, this board is for you. It’s time to take on more intermediate to advanced runs with varied terrain in a vessel that can handle it all. This is a great next step towards an all-mountain board that’s efficient in powder if you’re not ready to fully invest in a pow-specific board yet. Level up to a directional board to bring impress your friends with how much better you got since last season.

The Bottom Line

One board to rule them all. I don’t have to worry about what I’m packing for those weekend trips and figuring out what the weather is going to do in those locations. I know I can pack this board and I’ll have a wicked good time riding regardless of the conditions. The board has your back in the powder, on the groomers and hitting those cheeky side hits. A day riding this plank will have you remembering why you really love snowboarding.
