By: Sarah Ziffer: Women's & Kid's Techwear Buyer | September 27, 2023

Whenever you send your kid out into the world, you want to make sure they’re as prepared and protected as possible. And when the world you’re sending them into is covered in snow and thousands of feet above sea level, prepared and protected starts with buying the right kids' ski and snowboard jackets. The best kids’ ski and snowboard jackets are built with a tough face fabric for durability, backed up with a waterproof-breathable membrane to keep them dry, and filled with cozy synthetic insulation to keep them warm. They feature various amounts of insulation to accommodate different body temps and activity levels, unique design features, and a nice selection of styles so kids can express their personal flair.

New This Year:

The 2024 lineup of kids' kids' snowboard jackets is embracing a more inclusive approach with the introduction of unisex styling, allowing for a broader range of choices for young adventurers. This shift towards unisex designs not only promotes versatility but also offers a modern aesthetic that appeals to all. Alongside the styling evolution, there's a noticeable upgrade in kids' ski jackets waterproofing technology, ensuring higher levels of protection against the elements. The enhanced waterproofing is a testament to the industry's commitment to providing robust outerwear capable of withstanding the rigors of active outdoor play. The blend of unisex styling and superior waterproofing in the 2024 collection showcases a thoughtful progression aimed at delivering both fashion-forward and functional outerwear, ensuring young skiers and snowboarders are well-protected and stylishly decked out for their snowy escapades.

Sarah Ziffer

Growing up in Florida, I missed out on the chance to get involved in snow sports. Tired of the heat, and seeking out the mountains, I moved to Seattle to start a new adventure. A few years after moving to WA I fulfilled my dream of learning to snowboard and immediately fell in love with it. After just one time out on a friend’s board I was hooked. I outfitted myself from head to toe with gear from evo, and got a season pass at Snoqualmie.

I quickly realized that snowboarding inspired me to live a lifestyle centered around the outdoors. I left my job at a fashion company to come and work for evo and become immersed in the culture and experiences that make the snowboarding community so vibrant. I have been at evo since 2017, am currently the women's and kids' techwear buyer, and enjoy learning and experiencing everything this incredible community has to offer.
