The devil, as they say, is in the details. Sure, you can go out and have fun with just about any board, behind any boat, but it’s the little accessories and add-ons that make for a fun and unforgettable experience. That’s why we’ve put together this list of the best boat accessories, including boat fenders. Sure, a boat fender’s job is simple, it protects the boat from docks or anything else you pull up beside and tie up to. But not all boat fenders are created equal, and fenders, as well as the boats they protect, have come a long way in the last few years. The best boat fenders are designed to work well with modern hull shapes and ride securely with no rubbing or damage. They’re easier to deploy and bring in than traditional fenders as well, with less likelihood of jammed knots and flapping fenders.
We’ve also included other important boat accessories on this list. They might not be fenders, but they fit the same general description: they make taking your boat out easier and safer. So, from safety flags to guides, lines, and bumpers, this list has a little bit of everything. Don’t neglect the details until you’re pulled up to the ramp and realize you’re not prepared. Instead, get ahead of the rush and grab everything you need off this list before you head to the lake for endless summer fun.
Don't leave the dock without your best friend. Our wake buyer has an endless amount of knowledge on all things watersports stemming from years of experience in the watersports industry in tandem with their countless hours out in the water catching waves behind the boat or ripping at the cable park. evo's buyers assess all products coming to market, lean into this knowledge, and put together this selection of the best products. I grew up on the north end of Lake Washington and was surrounded by watersports enthusiasts who all had an immense passion for any activity done on the water. My dad has also worked in the boating industry my whole life, so those two factors were the main building blocks that shaped my love for the industry from a young age.
After attending Western Washington University, I moved back to the Seattle area and worked as a sailing instructor for a number of years at my cousin’s rental shop on Lake Union before joining the evo family in 2012.
At evo, I started out on the customer service team and worked my way onto the merchandising team which gave me the opportunity to integrate my passion and love for the water into a career as the Watersports Buyer. I still reside in the Seattle area with my wife Katie and two sons, Wes and Carter.
